About Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE)

It is our pleasure & honor to working with MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, in the field of skill development, Entrepreneurship, rural engagement, environment conservation, waste management & sustainable use of resources under Rural Entrepreneurship development cell (REDC) and Social Entrepreneurship, Swachhta and Rural Engagement Cell (SES-REC). These Cells are working under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Neena seth Pajni(Chairperson) and Nodal Officer Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Department of Business Administration of Gobindgarh Public College, Alour-Khanna. These Cells started working in the year 2020 as SES-REC and Social Entrepreneurship Cell in the college, later on SEC cell renamed as Rural Entrepreneurship Development Cell by vide letter no.-MHRD/GOI/SAP/2022-23/301 Dated 19.09.2022 Rural Entrepreneurship Development Cell (REDC) and Social Entrepreneurship, Swachhta and Rural Engagement (SES-RE) Cell. The SES-RECofGobnidgarh Public College, Alour (khanna) Ludhiana, aims at developing and scaling sustainable solutions to social challenges. The main focus is to spread awareness about enhancing social entrepreneurship in the higher education system whereas REDC has been reconstituted in the month of October, 2022 in the campus with a view to promote entrepreneurship spirit among students. The prime goal of the cell is to make our students future entrepreneurs. It strives for the enhancement of skill development and hence leading to entrepreneurship, giving the slogan of karigiri to karobari especially in rural areas.

 

Our College awarded with ‘One District One Green Champion Award’ by MGNCRE in the year 2020-21 & 2021-22. The institution consistently sensitizes its staff and students on the issues of gender equality & empowerment, Environment, Clean & Green energy, water & waste management, Swachhta and Social Entrepreneurship etc.

 

The students observed/celebrated various important days and conducted activities like drives, poster making competitions, speeches related with Environment, Rural Women, Food, Cleanliness Drives, webinars, Business plans, Rural Entrepreneurship Activities under Mahatma Gandhi National Entrepreneurship Month from 20th October-19th November,2022 and Entrepreneurship Activities to celebrate Student Self Help Group (SSGHs) Month on 19th -20th January,2023. GPC awarded with Certificate of Appreciation for Video Competition on the topic Karigari and Karowari in the month of February, 2023from MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, Government of India and college scored A+ in Green Cover on Campus, A in Surface Water Harvesting, A+ in Rooftop Water Harvesting, A+ in Rooftop Solar System and A in Waste Management in NRISG Ranking for 2022-23 by MGNCRE, MOE, Government of India.GPC hosted District Level workshop on Promoting Social Entrepreneurship based Vocational Education for Ludhiana by MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India on 12 November, 2022.

 

We are certain that the College’s association with MGNCRE will go a long way in enhancing the quality of education through sustainable initiatives, students’ self-help groups, capacity Building of faculty by various programs, rural entrepreneurship and innovation and the development academic resources. These Endeavors help our College to build ethical identity in society with a broad vision to serve our nation by community engagement.
